Elphicks Island Lodge

Elphicks Island Lodge is situated on the banks of the mighty Murray River 12 kilometres upstream from Lock 7, surrounded by the Lake Victoria State Forest and opposite Murray-Sunset National Park which includes Lindsay Island. Elphicks Island Lodge is an idyllic spot which accommodates between six and eight people on this pristine part of the river where the fishing is renowned. The island has been created by the natural pathway of a Murray River tributary called Coonpoor Creek. They provide a barbecue/party pontoon boat for leisurely cruises. Four canoes and two pedal boats are also available. The house has been originally constructed of native Murray Pine and they have tried not to alter the historical look whilst bringing it up to a very comfortable modern standard. The secluded island location makes this site ideally suited for bird watching, bush walking, or native wildlife spotting, as well as the fishing.
